It will race its first race in 2023.

Ferrari loves racing. It is a part of Ferrari’s history and the new Ferrari 296 GT3 will continue this tradition. Although Ferrari has not yet released a detailed description of the car, it has provided sketches that show its design. The final version will be different than the road-going model, and there will be other changes under the hood.

The Ferrari296 GTB has a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter engine paired with an electric motor. It produces 818 horsepower (610 Kilowatts) combined and 546 pound-feet (546 Newton-meters). This won’t be the engine in the 296 GT3. Ferrari is required to remove the hybrid setup from the 296 GT3 due to racing regulations. The V6 engine will drive the car. The performance details of the car were not disclosed by the company.

Ferrari’s 488 GT3 and 488 GT3Evo will be replaced by the 296 GT3. The former was called the “most successful car in company racing history” and the 296 GT3 Evo . With 770 starts and 429 victories, the 488 GT3 has won 107 titles. Ferrari upgraded the track of the 488 GT3 over its road-going counterpart, and it will do the exact same for the 296.

These sketches show a 296 GT3 which looks sharper and more refined than the GTB. The roof and greenhouse look noticeably different. This could however be an illusion based on the sketch.

The car has a larger front splitter that sits beneath a revised bumper. This should emphasize cooling and aerodynamics. These sketches also show massive vents on the top of the frontfenders. A massive rear wing is added to complete the aero upgrades. It will keep the supercar’s rear-wheel drive configuration planted on the asphalt.

Ferrari did not specify when the new race car would be revealed, but they did confirm that it is currently under construction. The GT3 will also see the return of a six-cylinder Ferrari on the track. It will be developed “in the coming weeks” before its race debut in 2023. It might be possible to get a glimpse from our spy photographers before the official unveiling, which we will share with you.
