The 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 RS was spotted for the first time, ahead of what is expected to be a full unveil later in the year.
The 911 GT3 RS was spotted with the side air intakes from the 911 Turbo, as well as a larger rear wing and wider tracks. The large alloy wheels were reminiscent of the 918 Spyder’s. At the rear, there was a central dual exhaust as well as more intakes in the bumper. Porsche may have added aerodynamic optimization by including camouflage in the middle of the roof or hood.
The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS will only be available with a PDK transmission. This will have a revised shifting strategy and revised gear ratios. The familiar 3.8 six-cylinder will be powered by an additional 475 HP (349kW) so you can expect more power than the GT3.
The 911 GT3 RS will be more aerodynamic and powerful than the 911 GT3 RS. Porsche plans to reduce the body weight, remove the cabin, and install thinner glass windows.
A public announcement could be made at the Paris Motor Show in October 2014.
