Fisker estimates that the Pear will start at $29,900.
A new teaser image shows the Fisker Pear cruising through a city to accompany a major manufacturing announcement. Fisker has signed a contract with Foxconn for the production of this vehicle at the former GM Lordstown, Ohio plant. Fisker expects that production will start in 2024 and that the factory can eventually produce 250,000 units.
The Pear teaser showed it only from the above. We are now able to view the EV from the three-quarters perspective. Although the front fascia is made of a mesh, there aren’t any openings. This is because EVs do not require the same cooling as combustion-powered cars.
The headlights are narrow and have an illuminated Pear emblem at the center. The hood looks quite small from this angle.
You will notice that the Apillar is distinctly curving. This is not something you see in modern cars. Rear-facing cameras are mounted on stalks, not mirrors.
The rear fenders extend from the body at the back. The illumination shows that the taillights appear to be vertically oriented on the C-pillar.
Foxconn purchased the factory from Lordstown Motors on May 11 for $260million. The plant will produce the Lordstown Motors Endurance electric pickup in addition to the Pear.
Pear stands for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution. Fisker currently accepts $250 reservations for the vehicle and projects that the starting price will be $29,000.
The technical details of the Pear are not available at this moment. Fisker describes the vehicle as an “agile, urban electric vehicle.” Fisker also claims that the vehicle is equipped with cutting-edge technology.
Fisker is currently preparing to launch Ocean electric crossover. MagnaSteyr will be responsible for the assembly. Production is expected to begin on November 17, 2022.
Fisker also works on the Ronin electric sport car. We have only a glimpse of the Ronin electric sports car’s appearance so far. The company promises a range of more than 550 miles (885 km) and a starting cost below $200,000.
