That sounds delicious.
The Ford F-150 Raptor has dominated a segment for the past ten years. The F-150 was a reliable off-road pickup. But that is no longer true. Ram introduced last year the TRX, an incredible 702-horsepower (523 kilowatt) beast that Ford is currently working on a Raptor variant. Although spy photographers had captured it testing before, this is the first time that we hear the Ford’s exhaust note.
The clip is very short because it captures the pickup at a red stoplight, and then the exhaust note as the pickup speeds through the intersection. We were not surprised that it sounds great. The Mustang’s 5.2-liter supercharged Ford Predator V8 engine, which produces 760 horsepower (567 kW), is expected to provide the power. This would be enough to power the TRX. Although it is not expected to produce that much power in the Raptor (540 kW and 750 HP), it should still be able to compete with the TRX.
Ford has already unveiled the third-generation Raptor earlier in the year. It will be powered by the brand’s EcoBoost V6 engine. The engine’s performance specs have not yet been released by Ford. Although the new Raptor R looks very similar to the one we have seen, the R will be equipped with a unique grille, beefier trails arms and special wheels. The R will also get an increase in horsepower. Raptor R-specific interior details could also be available.
Although the regular 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor should reach dealers this summer due to the continuing semiconductor shortage, it is unlikely that any F-150 Raptor will be available for sale until then. This has caused Ford to stop some F-150 production and store unfinished pickups . Ford’s Dearborn Truck Plant will build the Raptor. The Raptor R is the more desirable model. Ford won’t be launching the pickup until late this year, before it goes on the market in 2022.
