In a courtroom of law, it is not enough to be hustle, loyal, and respectful.
John Cena, Ford and their suit over the WWE wrestler’s sale of his Ford GT after the required 24-month ownership period expired. Cena and Blue Oval reached an agreement for an undisclosed amount, and Ford agreed to donate the money.
Cena stated that she loves the Ford GT and sincerely apologized to Ford. She also encouraged others to respect the contract in a statement released by Jalopnik. “I’m glad we were able to resolve this matter without going to court and that a worthy charity will be able to benefit from one the most famous cars in the world.”
Ford selected each GT’s owner and received 6,506 application for the initial 500 cars. To limit speculation on second-hand markets, Ford required GT owners to keep their cars for 24 months.
Cena paid $460,000 to purchase his GT, according to documents. Cena paid $460,000 for his GT, which included Liquid Blue exterior paint in $5,000 and a leather-wrapped steering column in $250.
Ford sued Ford for breach of contract in November. It requested $500,000. Ford claimed that Cena made a large profit from the illegal resale turn. Cena’s legal team tried to get rid of the suit, arguing that the 24-month ownership clause wasn’t in all contracts signed by the wrestler. Although the clause was included in the order confirmation, it wasn’t part of the final purchase order. However, this argument didn’t stand up in court.
Cena appeared excited to own the GT in a video, even though the cabin was a bit small for the muscular wrestler. Having a 2006 GT is enough for him, so maybe a second Ford supercar would be too much.
