Ford Bronco 4600 Race Truck Ready To Rule The Desert

Later in the year, it will make its racing debut at Baja 1000.

Ford revealed a trio Bronco Racers earlier this week. These trucks are wickedly attractive and ready to eat up desert miles. Ford was not done impressing. Today, Ford Bronco 4600 race car was announced by the company. It looks more like its road-going counterpart. It’s not meant for use on pavement. Ford will race the Ultra4 stock-class racers, with its racing debut at the Baja 1000 later in the year.

The race-ready Bronco is a modified version of the two-door Sasquatch Package-equipped production model. It uses the same EcoBoost twin-turbocharged, 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine as the 10-speed automatic gearbox that retail customers have. The 4600 comes with a number of upgrades that will help it handle the tough racing conditions. These include a competitive-tuned High Performance Off-Road Suspension with Foxhocks, Wilwood brakes and 35-inch BFGoodrich Mud-terrain T/AKM3 tires. Method Race Wheels also have beadlock. The Bronco’s underbody components include heavy-duty parts like the 74 Weld portal hubs, Howe hydraulic steering rack, cooler, and Triton Engineering control arm. Ford Performance also supplies the Warn Zeon winch and its modular steel bumpers. A custom roll cage protects the occupants while providing illumination. According to the company, the Bronco 4600 features the “first ever” FIA offroad-certified Recaro racing shells.

Bronco 4600 testing will begin later in the month. It will serve as a test bed for Ford Licensed Accessories (and Ford Performance parts) and will be available for purchase later in the month. Although the Ford Bronco isn’t yet in production, that hasn’t stopped Ford from advertising it.
