Ford is asked by the customer if its customer base is just “faceless masses of wallets to empty”.
The first 2021 Ford Broncos were delivered to their new owners. Production continues for the remaining 100,000+ reservations, but Ford is having some issues. The obvious problem is the shortage of chips, which forced Ford to consider other ways to keep its customers happy. The manufacturer will have to pay more attention to one Bronco owner, as the SUV they received was damaged.
This story was first published on the Bronco6G forum, where a user named Godot75 told the story about how they purchased a Bronco Badlands in July 2015. The customer was then sent a letter by the dealer on September 21. It seemed that the big day was near. The dealer did not contact the customer for the reasons he stated, and sent him the attached photo.
According to available information, the Bronco was reportedly crashed by a third party trucking company. This company had to transport it from the factory to the dealership. The customer was informed that the order had been cancelled and that a new order had been submitted. Due to the current delays and production interruptions, it is unlikely that the customer will receive a new shipment within four months. However, the customer did have the following to say:
“I have one request for anyone who is reading this. Please share my story. Please let me know if you know anyone at Ford who could help me. If you are a Ford executive, and believe your customer base isn’t a mass of wallets that need to be empty, but rather a group of individuals who care about your company and deserve something back, please contact me. This needs to be fixed quickly. You can be Bill Ford by waving your wand.
We will monitor the forum thread over the coming weeks and keep you informed if Ford responds to the situation.
