The factory snorkel and other tough upgrades ensure that this Bronco can withstand 36.4 inches of water.
Big Bend, Outerbanks, Badlands. Ford evidently took inspiration from the beautiful landscapes of the US in naming the new Bronco. While some states are well represented in the range, the off-roader is yet to venture south. With the Ford Bronco Everglades, that all changes. The new Bronc will make its debut at the 2022 Chicago Auto Show. This is a stark contrast with the balmy swamp which inspired this trim. The Bronco Everglades has the most versatile version yet, thanks to its custom cues that are specifically tailored for Florida’s wetlands. Engineers relocated key components such as the transmission vents and transfer case to make it more resilient to things like deep mud or murky water. This is a slight improvement of 3 inches over the trim that came before. The factory-designed snorkel by Ford improves the airflow to its engine in extreme conditions such as high water, snow or sand.
The Everglades model has a set 17-inch Carbonized Grey wheels wrapped around 35-inch Goodyear mudterrain tires. The rubber is surrounded by squared wheel arches, and the rear fender flares are extended to match the Sasquatch package’s width. The front fenders feature a unique Everglades topography graphic in matte black. The front end is adorned with a new modular bumper, complete with a 10,000-pound winch as well as a 100-foot synthetic rope. The fascia features a protective safari bar and rock rails as well as the same steel bash plates found on the Badlands and Black Diamond trims. The same turbocharged EcoBoost engine that powers the Broncos is used throughout the range. It produces 300 horsepower (223 Kilowatts) as well as 325 pound-feet (425 newton-meters), and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Everglades, like all Broncos comes standard with a four-wheel drive and uses the G.O.A.T driving modes. The interior’s marine-grade vinyl and rubberized floor tiles are also a carryover. This makes the interior of the Bronco fully waterproof and easy clean. The Everglades features Urban Green accents on the dash, seats, and doors. A standard 12.0-inch touchscreen runs on Ford’s Sync 4 interface. Ford Bronco Everglades will be available at dealerships in the summer. Order books open in March. The SUV will be available in five exterior colors: Desert Sand, Eruption Green Area 51, Shadow Black and Cactus Gray. Prices start at $54,495 (includes $1,495 destination).
