Ford Bronco Makes European Show debut, Launch Possible but Not Confirmed
The unexpectedly surprising place where the off-roader arrives is Europe.

Although the Ford Bronco has now entered its second model year in America, it is still a US-only product. Ford is considering launching the off-roader in Europe in the future, but nothing has been confirmed at this time. The Bronco makes its debut on the Old continent this week to fuel speculation about the vehicle’s release to the European market. We decided to investigate further.

The 2022 Sofia Motor Show currently features a Bronco Big Bend equipped with a 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine. It is one of two European auto shows OICA has included in its 2022 calendar, along with the 2022 Paris Motor Show. This is the first time the model has been seen on the continent. However, it is important to remember that the vehicle was not imported officially by Ford Europe, but rather by Moto-Pfohe (a local Ford dealer in Bulgaria). The price tag on the vehicle in Sofia is not included.

Jim Farley, Ford CEO, stated that he doesn’t rule out sending the Bronco to Europe to compete with the Land Rover Defender. He stated that he was “just waiting for these guys [Ford Europe] to decide their minds” at the 2021 Goodwood Revival. However, the situation hasn’t changed much since then.

A trademark application filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office in 2019 is another positive sign that the Bronco could launch in Europe. This filing was made even before the Bronco’s official debut in the United States.
