Jimmy Car Car is behind the microphone for “Drive”, but he won’t speak about the Blue Oval.
We all know Ford CEO Jim Farley is a true car guy. According to people who have known Farley personally, he loves cars and is a keen collector. Farley, who has been nicknamed Jimmy Car Car from his childhood, is proof of this.
He rode a Puma rally car and liked it. Ford’s head honcho started a podcast to share his passion for cars. On Spotify, “DRIVE With Jim Farley” is now available. This podcast features interviews with comedians and other auto enthusiasts.
One thing is certain though: Farley won’t talk about Ford. Farley doesn’t want to talk about Ford as a company.
Farley spoke with Detroit Free Press and said that Spotify approached him last year to invite him to create a podcast series. Farley declined, saying he didn’t want to be boring business leaders.
Farley agreed to the proposal with the condition that he wouldn’t speak about work.
“DRIVE with Jim Farley,” will upload weekly through July. The show will host guests like DaxShepard and Jimmy Kimmel. The show’s finale will air on July 6, 2022. It will feature Tom Brady, a superstar quarterback.
“Everyone has a story that is connected to a car. These stories can be shared by anyone, not just car enthusiasts or auto executives. People love cars. Farley, in a Spotify interview, stated that while they can physically transport you from one point to another, what happens on those journeys is often what you will remember.”
