The filings are currently only available for Canada and Mexico.
Ford has filed two trademark applications suggesting that the Blue Oval may use Adrenaline in a future vehicle. The automaker has so far only registered the term in Mexico, and Canada. It would surprise us if the company registered the name in only two North American markets. The filings were made in September 2018. Patent offices in other countries might not have published trademarks yet.
These trademarks apply to motor vehicles. They include passenger cars, trucks, sport-utility vehicles, offroad vehicles and structural parts, fittings and badges. The Adrenaline name could be applied to the entire model, or just a specific trim level. The filmings do not include a drawing of emblems so it’s difficult to extrapolate much about the vehicle.
Ford has many options for using the Adrenaline name. However, one option is to make a performance-oriented Explorer. The company used the Explorer Sport Trac in 2007 to create the Adrenalin concept. (gallery below). This vehicle was designed to bring together the best of the Ford F-150 Lightning and an SUV/pickup. The vehicle featured a lower ride height and revised bumpers. It also had different wheels than the stock model.
Ford could take elements from F-150 Raptor to create the new Adrenaline. The SUV could be a huge success because of its rugged pickup design.
