Only 50 units will be produced, and production of Focus RS will end on April 6.
We shared the news that Ford had plans to produce 500 examples in red of its Focus RS for the U.K. to mark the end of production.
However, 500 seems to be too many for this family car. So an even more exclusive version of the vehicle is in development. This time, only 50 units will be sold in the U.K.
Everybody remembers the Mk. The Mk. II Focus ST is a classic. You can’t go five miles without passing one in bright orange. Strangely, however the ST’s larger brother, the RS, has not been offered in such a hue over its 16-year-old, three-generation lifespan… Until now.
The red edition, also known as the Red Edition, is the Heritage Edition. It features a front-mounted Quaife limited slip differential (LSD) and a mechanical Quaife.
FPM375 Mountune engine upgrades are available on the Heritage Edition. This enhancement, which is installed by dealers, increases the overboost to increase power. It raises the power output from 345 horsepower down to just under 370 hp. The high-flow induction system, turbo recirculating valve and calibration also boost torque from 347 lb/ft (470Nm) to 376lb/ft (510Nm).
There are many visual enhancements to the vehicle, including black forged alloy wheels, bright paintwork and contrasting black door mirrors. Privacy glass and partial leather Recaro seats are also available. The Heritage does not come with many toys as it is more of a driver’s car. However, there are sunroofs, rear parking sensors and power-folding mirrors. There’s also cruise control with speed limiter and heated steering wheel.
The Focus RS already looks great, but the extra performance (and paint) make it stand out.
It is also quite expensive. This is hard to say. It’s PS39,895 (approximately $55,330).
If you are looking for a Ford Focus at this price, then this car is for you.
