Ford Fox-Body Mustang SSP Old Ford Hits the Dyno With Great Numbers

A number of Mustang police cars were still in use before the Mach-E.

The Crown Victoria is the most famous name when it comes to police cars in the United States. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the government didn’t want to get more powerful machines for law enforcement. The Ford Fox-body Mustang SSP stands for Special Service Package. These Mustangs were used in their heyday and were manufactured from 1982 to 1993. One of the 15,000 produced Mustangs is still in great shape. This unit, which hit the dyno today, is featured by Late Mod Restoration on YouTube. What power does the Mustang coppers produce? It still produces 257 horsepower (189 Kilowatts) as well as 294 pound-feet (399 Newton meters) of torque at its wheels, according to the dyno. These cars are not very healthy, but they were still used in the 1980s.

California Highway Patrol came up with the idea for a Fox-body Mustang Police Car.
