Performance Power Racing modified a BADD Ford GT to reach 283 mph in one mile.
A Ford GT custom has reached 283.232 mph (455.82 km/h), in a standing mile at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, NASA’s Shuttle Landing Facility runway.
Performance Power Racing created this street-legal Ford GT with two turbos and components made of “pandalloy”. This aerospace aluminum alloy was developed in partnership with Pratt & Whitney. It is ideal for racing applications due to its low weight, high strength, and resistance to temperature.
This Ford GT produces 1,700 horsepower (1267 kW) and has broken the Guinness World Record in street-legal cars. It reached a Tag Heuer-measured speed of 283.232 mph in just 5,280 feet (1.609 meters).
