Track Pack provides a tuned suspension with new tires for improved handling and grip.
Ford has revealed a new performance package to the Mustang GT 2010.
Track Pack is the name of the package and was created to improve handling and grip on the Mustang’s top-performing model.
Track Pack contains 19-inch rims with Pirelli Zero P255/40ZR-19 for improved grip, stabilizer bars at front and back, borrowed from 2009 Shelby GT500, and tuning of shocks and struts to complement the stabilizer bars.
The improved damping reduces the roll gradient by 13%, which allows for more control over the Mustang’s weight while allowing it to lean heavily into curves. This keeps the car more level.
Track Pack packages will be available for 2010 Mustang GT’s with manual-gearbox only starting in the summer.
Ford will offer its FR3 handling pack on the Mustang GT along with Track Pack. Ford Racing developed the FR3 Handling Pack. It offers a lowered suspension of 1-inch (2.54cm), a higher spring rate, stiffened front- and rear sway bars, and increased compression on dampers.
The Track Pack’s price will be 1,495 USD. The FR3 Handling Pack is $1,335.
