Ford’s latest trucks are popular with people.
Ford will increase its lineup with two new trucks over the next year – the compact Maverick, and the all-electric F150 Lightning. The Maverick, which will be on sale in the fall, was the first to debut. Ford may have backlog orders to fill before either of them hit the showroom floors. Ford announced this week that the two trucks have already received more than 200,000 reservations during its Q2 2021 earnings call.
The Maverick accounts for about 80,000 of the 200,000 reservations, while the Lightning holds over 120,000. Reservations are not orders and not all reservations will be equal. Ford did not require a deposit for a Maverick, but people had to pay $100 to reserve the Lightning. Ford must have been pleased with the interest shown in both vehicles, regardless of their cost. The Maverick has More than twice as many reservations Since its June debut, while Lightning has gained 100,000 .The Ford Maverick will be the brand’s entry level offering. It’s priced at $30,000 , it offers a compelling package. The standard 2.5-liter hybrid engine that gets 40 mpg in the city makes the truck even more attractive. It will arrive in the city later this year. We hope that it does not encounter any problems like the Bronco.
Although the F-150 Lightning represents a bold move for the iconic model it will be up against many other models when it goes on sale next spring. Ford has demonstrated a product that will please F-150 and long-time truck fans. Seventy-five per cent of Lightning reservation holders are brand new to Ford. Although the Lightning is priced at $40,000, prices can go up to $90,000. Ford now offers a wider range of trucks than ever before with the additions of the Maverick, Lightning and Lightning. Have you ever ordered a pickup truck from Ford with 200,000 reservations?
