We know Ford will place the new Maverick under the Ranger. We didn’t know it would be smaller. A new set of spy photos has revealed a significant size difference between the pickups. Although the Ranger is not a massive vehicle, the Maverick shrinks when it’s around, giving us an idea of the Mavericks’ dimensions.
Ford’s C2 platform will be used to transport the Maverick. Bronco Sport Its small size is not surprising considering Escape and Maverick. The Maverick is shorter and narrower than the Ranger in the photos. The Maverick will have a smaller cabin, smaller bed and shorter ride height. However, it still looks great. Although the Bronco Sport and Maverick share a similar front end, they have a common design philosophy.
The Maverick will likely use the same powertrains as the Bronco Sport. Customers have the option of a turbocharged 1.5 liter three-cylinder engine or a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder engine. The Maverick’s status as a pickup truck means that it will likely receive some of the Bronco Sport’s more rugged off-road parts. One engine powers the Ranger – a turbocharged 2.3-liter four cylinder that produces 270 horsepower (201 Kilowatts), compared to the 2.0’s 250 HP (186 kW)
Ford’s new small pickup should not be delayed. The Maverick has been seen out and about after we discovered that Ford had started producing pre-production models earlier in the year. Ford’s declining lineup of entry-level models will be bolstered by the Maverick. The starting price will be below $20,000. However, there are many options to customize it such as the Timberline trim model.
