A second intercooler is visible behind the grille.
The possibility of a Ford Maverick ST has been rumored for a while. This gallery of spy photos may be the first time we see the performance-oriented truck in action. It can be seen at Blue Oval’s testing grounds.
This truck’s rear bumper is the best proof. A modified rear bumper is featured on the pickup with cut-out sections. You can see an exhaust pipe in some photos. The model only has one outlet at the moment.
Another interesting detail can be found behind the grille. It is possible that there is an additional intercooler or the part has been moved to another location. It seems that the Maverick’s powertrain requires extra cooling. This can be done by changing to a more efficient powertrain.
Camouflage is also used by Ford around wheel wells. It looks like the fenders are sticking out more than the current Mavericks despite the camouflage. Automakers often widen the arches when making performance-oriented products. This is because the model looks more powerful and can be fitted with wider wheels.
A rumor about a Maverick ST was circulated in August 2021 that Ford was looking at the market to determine if the sporty model would be a good fit. Although this was not a confirmation of the vehicle’s existence, it did indicate that Ford was still open to the possibility.
This is not the Maverick Rattler rumored. The model has been spotted in spy shots with parts such as a revised front fascia and skid plate. It also has a higher ride height. The pictures do not show the engine as it might be, but they do show one exhaust pipe.
Ford applied for a trademark to “Rattler” in June 28, 2021. The United States Patent and Trademark Office has listed the application as “Under Examination” at the time of writing. “
