This is the most striking look to date.
Ford has dropped the sedan market in the US but has not abandoned four-door models all over the world. This gallery of spy photos shows Ford’s future replacement for its Fusion, and Mondeo models that are currently being tested in Michigan.
This vehicle has a lot less camouflage than its predecessor. The Ford Evos in front has a strong resemblance. The grille is octagonal and has a roughly oval shape with mesh in the middle. The hood has sharp-edged running lamps that run below the headlights. The lower fascia is simple and rectangular with an inlet.
The sedan appears very sleek from the side. The hood is a curved shape that leads to a flowing roof. The trunk is located at the back. Although camouflage conceals design details well but some sculpting can be seen on the doors,
The tail is particularly interesting. The rear lights extend across the width of the vehicle’s rear. Clear lamps appear to be used as turn signals. However, tiny red brake lights can be seen at each end.
The car is viewed through its window, but these angles don’t give a clear view of the interior.
It is still a mystery what the powertrain looks like. The exhaust pipes and “Caution Fuel drain” sticker at the rear bumper confirm that there is a combustion engine.
The future of this vehicle is not known. The Fusion is gone in the USA, and the Mondeo will cease production in Europe in March 2022.
Although we don’t expect this sedan to be available in America, it does seem possible that it will be sold in Europe. The Mondeo and the Taurus are still available in China. Ford may be readying this vehicle for sale in that country.
