Ford Mondeo ST200, a front-wheel drive sports car, was not meant to be a sports sedan. The Ford Mondeo ST200, also known as the Contour SVT in America is powered by a 2.5-liter transverse-mounted V6 engine. It produces 202 horsepower (151 Kilowatts), and 173 lbft (235 Newton meters) of torque. The V6 engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission, which sends power through the front wheels.
The Ford Mondeo ST200 was not built with the same rear-wheel-drive system as the competitors. However, Ford engineers created a fantastic chassis that could compete with rivals like BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Ford’s ST200 homologation special was created to allow Ford to compete in the British Touring Car Championship. Ford’s incredible Ford Mondeo ST200 won the BTCC championship with a 1-2-3 rank, making it a dominant force at the track.
