The Ford Mustang is America’s most beloved sports car and the best-selling sports car in the world for three consecutive years. This milestone is significant. leaked this week indicating that the 10 millionth Mustang has been rolled off the production lines at Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant, Michigan.
Jim Farley, Ford’s president of global markets, said that Mustang is the company’s heart and soul and a favourite around the globe. “Seeing a Mustang rolling down a Detroit street, London, or Beijing street is the same thrill I had when I bought my first car, a 1966 Mustang coupe I drove across the country as an adolescent. Mustang makes smiles in every language.
The jubilee Mustang, a white convertible Mustang GT powered by a 5.0-liter Coyote engine that produces 460 horsepower (343 megawatts). The engine is mated with a six-speed manual transmission, which sends power to the rear axle. Ford claims the car was finished in the same color of the 1964 first serialized Mustang, VIN 001. It had a V8 engine as well as a manual transmission.
Ford’s Dearborn headquarters celebrated the milestone with flyovers by three WWII-era P-51 Mustang fighter aircrafts as well as a parade featuring Mustangs from all five decades. The Mustang was also produced in San Jose, Metuchen and Dearborn’s original Mustang production facility during its 54-year production run.
In 2015, the sixth-generation Mustang was introduced. It featured an independent rear suspension as well as Shelby GT350/GT350R models. 2018’s model year saw styling improvements and an upgraded 5.0-liter V8 motor. Ford also introduced the Mustang Bullitt in January 2018. It boasts 480 horsepower (358 kW) as well as a six-speed manual.
