Ford Mustang Bullitt Price Goes Up While Pony Car Sales Go Down

A 2020 Bullitt will cost you an additional $1,215 without any new equipment.

Ford is updating pricing information hot and heavy, with new dollars figures for the Ford Escape as well as Ford Mustang EcoBoost High Performance Package appearing earlier in this week. We have more Mustang pricing today, this time for 2020 Bullitt. You won’t find a drop in price from the manufacturer if you had hoped for it.

According to CarsDirect, the Hollywood-themed Bullitt model receives a $1,215 price increase compared to last. This brings the Bullitt’s MSRP up to $48,905 after paying destination fees. Although we would love to claim that buyers get more kit for the extra price, this year’s Bullitt is still available. The Bullitt’s details will remind you that it has 20 more horsepower under the hood due to modifications in the intake system. Also, the engine’s 5.0-liter V8 is tuned to produce 480 horsepower (358kilowatts). The GT also gets a special appearance package, which includes Dark Highland Green with minimal badgering.

Ford Mustang Bullitt Price Goes Up While Pony Car Sales Go Down

Although the price hike isn’t huge, it is surprising considering the insufficient equipment to justify the increase. This price increase comes at a moment when Mustang sales are falling significantly in the U.S., compared to recent years. Last year saw 75,842 Blue Oval Pony Cars being sold. This was the Mustang’s worst year-over-year performance since 2011. It also extended a decline in sales that began in 2016. Although sales were up slightly in January, they dropped significantly in February and March. This was the Mustang’s worst yearly performance since 2011. It also extended a year-over-year decline that began in 2016. While the Chevrolet Camaro isn’t doing much better, Dodge Challenger has been relatively steady in recent years.

Ford may be aware that the Mustang’s popularity in North America is declining, despite claiming the title of the best-selling sports car in the world. We don’t know the pricing or the confirmed horsepower levels of the 2020 Shelby GT500.
