Ford Mustang Mach-E joins Griswold Family for Christmas Reunion

It isn’t a Wagon Queen Family Truckster-themed electric vehicle.

When we first got our hands on the Ford Mustang, there were many things that we learned about it. The crossover EV is more than its Mustang badge. However, we won’t go into detail and instead let you read our First Drive. We didn’t realize that the Blue Oval nameplate could reunite a family on an electrivacation. Ford’s latest ad features the Griswold family from the ’80s hit movie National Lampoon’s Vacation.

It isn’t a Wagon Queen Family Truckster-themed Mach-E. The ad begins with Clark Griswold (played by Chevy Chase) and the rest the cast of comedy show reunited in front a house. This is a touching sight for anyone who has ever seen these men on television or on silver screens.

Chase attempted to finish the circuit to install the Christmas lights that flood the house’s fascia. But he was unsuccessful. His wife Ellen Griswold (played by Beverly D’Angelo) went to the garage, and plugged her house into her Mustang Mach-E. It worked well, showing the EV’s ability to power a house and displaying the Mach-E’s battery capacity. The Mach-E can be equipped with a 376-cell battery pack that has a capacity of 98.8 kilowatt-hours and can also carry a 376-cell battery pack. Ford can claim up to 300 miles of range with this extended battery pack for rear-wheel-drive vehicles. These are available in the Premium or California Route 1 trims. They both produce 282 horsepower (210 Kilowatts) as well as 306 pound-feet (415 Newton meters) of torque.

The Blue Oval’s range is much greater than that of competitors such as the Tesla Model Y or Mercedes EQC. You can find all details in our Mustang E launch article, which we have already covered.
