All things Raptor

Ford’s performance division needs to be working on at minimum two Raptor products – the F-150 Raptor, and the Ranger Raptor. We are still wondering if Ford should increase its off-road-ready range after seeing how well the Raptors were. There were many ideas, such as the Explorer Raptor or Puma Raptor. Now, a new rendering suggests a completely different Raptor concept.

KDesign is the same artist that envisioned the rugged Puma Raptor. Now, offers a combination of two seemingly unmatchable cars – the Mustang or F-150 Raptor. Although it looks strange, the aggressive front fascia of the sports car seems to complement the F-150 Raptor’s hardcore design. The Ford Mustang Raptor looks very plausible with the massive Ford lettering on its radiator grille. F-150 Mustang Raptor, perhaps? Anyway.

We can’t see Ford going in such a radical direction for the next-gen F-150 Raptor. This is especially considering the evolutional look of the regular F-150. We expect Ford to adopt a conservative approach, combining traditional Raptor cues and the newly designed body of America’s most-sold vehicle.

We are most excited about Ford’s new Ranger Raptor. In the United States, the smallest truck in Ford’s range will get a V6 turbocharged motor. International versions will use diesel power.

Ford now offers a Raptor inspired Transit family in Europe. The Trial range uses a 2.0-liter diesel engine with different power outputs.
