Buyers are very annoyed.
The Ford Ranger model is very important in Australia. The Blue Oval midsize truck is not only designed and engineered in Australia, but it has been consistently at top of the sales charts year after year. The Ranger still ranks second in Australia’s July 2021 pickup/ sales charts, just behind Toyota Hilux.
Its appeal lies in its constant updating over its decade-long existence. This kept it current for the Land Down Under’s patrons. It appears that Ford will begin to eliminate novelty features in order to reduce costs as the truck enters its next life cycle. Customers noticed, CarAdvice reports.
According to the publication they were contacted by owners who noted the absence of small luxuries such as an extendable arm on sun visor to block side-glare, illuminated vanity mirrors and a plastic pocket underneath the rear seat.
CarAdvice stated that the brochures were updated with the changes, but one customer pointed out that “who goes into such detail when you already know what the car is?”
While the changes don’t have a dramatic effect on your life, customers are unhappy about them, according to statements collected by CarAdvice.
Ford will soon retire the T6 platform from the Ranger and make a long-awaited overhaul. We have seen many prototypes in spy photos to show that. It’s also about time that the midsize truck gets an update.
However, anyone who is keen to purchase the Blue Oval pickup can accept that Ford has reduced some small luxuries, or wait for the next-generation model to be revealed.
When will it arrive? CarAdvice stated that the next Ford Ranger would arrive in Australian showrooms in early 2022 with a debut later in the year.
