Ford describes the “bad-ass pickup” as it will be making its Gamescom debut.
We assumed that Ford was referring to the European Ranger Raptor when it announced plans to reveal a performance model at Gamescom earlier this month. We were correct as Europe’s most-selling truck debuted today in Cologne, Germany. It has a robust look that matches the new diesel engine.
The Ranger Raptor’s heart is a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine that produces 210 horsepower and 369 pounds-feet (500 Newton meters) of torque. It is powered by a pair turbochargers. These numbers may seem familiar because the Australian model uses the same EcoBlue engine that produces the identical output. Its Euro counterpart is identical to the one available in Australia. The Euro model shares Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission with the F150 Raptor.
Terrain Management System gives the Ranger Raptor six driving modes that enhance its ability to go anywhere. A switch mounted on the steering wheel allows driver to choose from normal, sport or grass/gravel/snow modes.
Ford has revealed the Euro-spec Ranger Raptor truck at Gamescom. This pickup truck is part of the highly anticipated Forza Horizon 4. The video game will allow you to drive the modified vehicle virtually from October 2. The real thing is available for purchase on the old continent in mid-2019.
Although availability in the United States is not yet certain, a recent patent filing confirms that Ford plans to sell Ranger Raptor in the USA sooner or later. It’s up to you to guess what power it will use. Some say it will be powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine, while others claim it will run on diesel. However, we are leaning towards diesel.
