The debut could take place later in the year.
Ford’s Super Duty lineup is getting a major update that blurs the line between a refresh or a new generation. Although the truck’s underpinnings remain the same, many aspects of this tough range of trucks have changed. These spy photos capture the Lariat trim with the least camouflage at this stage in its development.
The Super Duty features a fully exposed grille. Each side has stacked headlights with a space between them. Their outer edges are surrounded by bracket-shaped running lights. Fog lights are prominently displayed on the lower fascia.
Another spy shot showed a different design for the middle section. There was a mesh section in the previous model. This is how Ford distinguishes its trim levels.
Although the hood looks flat, camouflage may conceal some accents. It curves down to meet the grille at the tip of your nose.
This trim is indicated by the body-colored running boards and mirror caps. Truck rides on chunky wheels that have raised sections at the outer end of the rim.
The current design of the taillights looks similar, but there are some modifications. Although the white reverse lights remain in the inner part, the shape has become longer and narrower. The brake lights remain at the upper and lower corners.
According to reports, the Super Duty’s cabin adopts tech from the F-150 such as a large touchscreen infotainment screen.
We don’t expect the engine ranges to change too much. Buyers would be able choose from a 6.2-liter V8, 7.3-liter V8 or 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8. They might also have torque or horsepower improvments. Rumours of a hybrid option are also possible, but Ford insists that a fully-electric Super Duty won’t be coming soon.
The new Super Duty will be unveiled this year. According to reports, the unveiling will take place in the fall.
