The Ford Super Duty Tremor The Blue Oval’s new rugged package for big trucks that makes it more versatile off-road is the Blue Oval. However, the truck market almost gave the model a different name. Ford Authority It was originally planned that the variant would be called FX4 Max. Although the executives refused to explain why they changed their mind, we felt Tremor was a better and more memorable choice.
Ford chose not to name the new Superduty version Raptor, as the truck’s capabilities were too different from the previous model. Sources informed Muscle cars and Trucks, that the Tremor was engineered to excel in low-speed offroading like rock crawling. The Raptor has been developed by the team for high-speed capabilities on rugged terrain. It didn’t make sense for the crew to name them both Raptor.
Tremor is a Super Duty-style lift that raises the ride height by 2.08 inches (5.08 cms). This increases total ground clearance to 10.8 in (27.4 cms) and water fording depth up to 33 in (83.82cms). The tires are 35 inches in diameter and the wheels are 18-inch matte-black. The truck has a Dana limited slip differential at its front and a locking differential in the rear for better traction. The new rock crawl mode joins the list of driving modes. Additional skid plates and running boards are available for the body.
Tremor packages are available on the XLT and Lariat trims. The 6.7-liter PowerStroke Diesel V8 engine is available to buyers. A 10-speed automatic is the only available gearbox. Pricing details for this new option are not yet available from the Blue Oval.
