Ford to Launch Online Sales of Used Cars Soon
The Blue Oval would like to see an increase in used car sales.

Three million used Ford vehicles are being sold annually. However, only one third of these transactions came from a Ford dealer. This was according to Mark LaNeve (Ford’s director for U.S. marketing and sales), in a telephone conversation with reporters. It was relayed by Automotive News.

Ford wants to increase the percentage of Blue Oval dealers that receive this huge amount. Ford Motor Co. has an answer. It’s called The Ford Blue Advantage.

Automotive News reported that a virtual meeting of some 8,000 dealers revealed a plan for launching a new online platform and brand for used vehicles in the first quarter of next year. Ford Blue Advantage will link all 3,100 dealers’ used inventory, and will be available on one website. The Ford Blue Advantage will offer guaranteed pricing and delivery as well as a new certified pre-owned product, though LaNeve has not disclosed details.

LaNeve stated that he believes it will be the largest source for used Fords from day one. We can likely find a 2015 Mustang Convertible color in canary yellow.

Ford sedans are not offered in America as new in dealers. The used car market is the best place to go if you’re looking for a Ford Fusion, or a Taurus.

LaNeve noted that dealers are very dependent on the used car market, which is a major source of profit. The online platform will allow Ford dealers to sell more used cars.

The Automotive News story claimed that the Ford Blue Advantage would be launched in 2021, although no timeframe has been established.
