Ford Transit Connect is a fully-equipped compact camper van that’s no-nonsense and completely equipped

Yes, it includes a full-size bathroom with a standing shower.

Ford’s Transit Connect was a compact, efficient cargo hauler that attracted a lot of attention when it was launched. You could put some sleeping bags in the back to go on a weekend trip, but would you consider using it as a fully-equipped camper van? Although space is limited, this simple upfit still manages to fit all the necessary items, including a full-service bathroom with a standing shower.

This 2011 Transit Connect camper conversion, nicknamed Lil Tripper is still impressive to see. It provides much-needed headroom and allows for the above mentioned shower. It is located at the back of the driver’s side with what appears to a cassette toilet on its passenger side. A small sink is also located in this area. It’s mounted between a refrigerator, and a large air conditioner. This holds the station between the sliding side door and bathroom.

The driver’s side has a two-person dining area, which converts to a sleeping area according the Cars and Bids. Although the photos only show one sleeping area, there is a large folding shelf and ladder. Although we don’t believe it’s intended for a person this shelf offers at least more storage space in the small van. You’ll find additional storage space at the front and a microwave to cook.

You will need to go outside for additional cooking. The sliding door has a compartment that can hold a propane stove. An awning with a manual motor is also available to provide shade and protection from the sun. The van has an external hookup for electricity and water, but no storage capacity is mentioned.

Although it isn’t what we would call appealing, it’s functional. The rest of the van is listed as a standard-issue Transit Connect with 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 136 horsepower (101 megawatts), and riding on stock suspension. The odometer shows only 9,000 miles, which means it has probably camped more than it has traveled.

Although this van isn’t the smallest conversion of a campervan we’ve seen it can be an economical option for weekend getaways.
