Ford has revealed the first details of the 2012 Mustang Cobra Jet. It boasts a supercharged V8 engine of 5.4-liters and improved brakes.
Ford plans to release a new version their Cobra Jet racer.
The 2012 Cobra Jet is based on the 2010 model and features a 5.4-liter V8 with a 2.3-liter TVS Supercharger or an optional Whipple supercharger. Manley H-beam connectingrods, Strange Engineering brakes and black anodized wheels fitted with Goodyear tires are some other updates.
George Goddu, Ford Racing’s Business Manager, stated that “With every Cobra Jet built, we strive to keep the spirit of the original Cobra Jet and develop the next generation drag racing icon.” An enthusiast racing the 2012 Cobra Jet is able to compete at any event, whether it’s local track or NHRA Stock or Super Stock classes.
Production will be limited at 50 units, and prices start at $91,900.
