Raj Nair’s GT story continues.
Raj Nair, the Ford North America chief has taken a new job with the company that makes the car he helped to create. Nair was responsible for the revival of the GT supercar during his time at the Blue oval. Nair resurfaced at Multimatic, a Canadian company that produces the GT road and racing car.
Multimatic’s Marketing Vice President Michael Guttilla stated that Raj brings “extensive knowledge, perspective, and skills in engineering manufacturing and management to Multimatic.” Road and Track magazine. Multimatic will be able to offer a higher level of performance to our customers with these qualities.
Guttilla said, “Adding Raj to our leadership group was about making a great organization even better.” His skills are perfectly in line with Multimatic’s core competencies.
Nair’s resignation from Ford was unexpected when it was first announced in February 2018. Although the company did not elaborate on why Nair was fired, they did disclose that an investigation had been launched after receiving a report.
Ford issued a statement later stating that the executive’s behavior had been deemed “inconsistent” with the company’s code. Nair’s Facebook page explains that the 67-year old has retired from Ford earlier in the year.
Jim Hackett, CEO of the company, stated that they made the decision after careful review and consideration. Ford is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and respectful environment. We expect our leaders and employees to uphold these values.
Nair received his Ford GT just weeks before he quit Ford. It was painted in the same livery as Ford’s Le Mans racer.
