A very rare Ferrari Thomassima built in 1967 has been listed on eBay with an eye-watering “buy it now” price of $9 million.
This car was created by Tom Meade, a coachbuilder. Only three were made. The first one, built in 1962, was destroyed in the floods that devastated Florence in 1969. This is the Thomassima II, which was built in 1967. The Ferrari museum in Modena has a third and final car that was built in 1969.
Let’s get back to the car. It has been through a thorough restoration process over the past seven years. The V12 engine used on the Ferrari 250 GTO is still in use, while the design draws inspiration from the 1967 330 P4 racecar.
Investors looking to invest can try their luck. The seller will accept offers so it is possible to get it for less that the $9 million asking price. According to the listing, Thomassima II has been “fully restored to its original working condition, brand-new paint, and all original parts restored back to their period correct condition.”
