Geely’s new Bo Rui GE sedan makes an intriguing model.
Geely unveiled a new saloon model at the Beijing Motor Show. It is the first time that a Chinese car has been shown to be the benchmark.
Bo Rui GE, pronounced bow ray, is the first Geely to emerge from the new design centers established by Peter Horbury, the new head of design. Horbury has been tapped from Volvo in order to oversee all Geely subsidiaries including Lotus, LEVC and LEVC. This makes the London taxi.
Horbury stated that the new car was not a reflection on Western influence but rather a sign of changing tastes in China.
“Chinese consumers are also more mature and sophisticated than ever before.” We have grown to be a global brand that is confident in our ability to develop segment-leading cars with subtle hints of Chinese origin by focusing on the needs of this new group of vehicle users.
An Conghui, Geely CEO, stated that the Bo Riu GE was designed to be practical in a new technological era. “We’re no longer making playthings just for the wealthy.” “We are making cars that people can use, not collect.”
The new sedan can be ordered with either a 1.5-liter engine or a plug-in hybrid setup that includes an internal seven-speed automatic transmission. This adds power and reduces fuel consumption.
Peter Horbury provided a brief overview of the car to reporters at the Beijing Show. He said that the front and back lights were inspired from Chinese lanterns, and the “twisting of a gymnast’s ribbon.” He also introduced the “expanding cosmic” grille. The interior features an attractive 12-inch touchscreen that is flush with the dashboard.
There are also exciting features like brushed metal trim running along the lengths of the front doors. This is illuminated at night to reveal a pattern made up of rectangular shapes that adds drama. Horbury claims that the touchscreen smart key can be used to control and check certain functions of the car.
The vehicle will be available for purchase in China within the next three months and then to selected markets around the globe.
