It appears that the redesign model will arrive sooner than expected.
The 2022 model year will see a price increase for the most expensive model in Genesis. This is based on data from the latest ordering guide of the company, compiled by CarsDirect.
According to the publication, the Genesis G90 will see a $1,000 price increase across the range by 2022. This means that the G90 Premium 3.3T Premium will cost $74,995 (includes delivery and handling) as opposed to the current $73,995 model. The G90 5.0 Ultimate AWD will go up in price to $81,245, from $80,245.
CarsDirect has not found any indication of an update to standard equipment, nor has the company announced one.
This pricing report confirms that the G90 will not be coming to the States for the 2022 model-year. It’s not common for car manufacturers to release ordering guides for new models before they are launched globally. This would mean that the G90’s last hurrah in America before its redesign would be the price hike.
The new Genesis G90 will be made available in Korea sometime later this year. We have seen prototypes tested at various times (see gallery), and the latest spy photos from August reveal some interesting design details.
This new model could be available in the US for the model year 2023. The new model will likely see a price increase, but that is not surprising considering the improvements expected in large luxury sedans.
The naturally-aspirated V8 which powers the current top-spec may not be able to power the new, as previously reported. This is due to the elimination of the V8 option on the G90’s platform sibling, the Kia K9; instead, a turbocharged 3.5-liter engine V6 has been added and an optional electric version will be joining the lineup.
