It’s an evolution from the Genesis X Concept last year, and ready for the EV era.
Genesis has unveiled a concept car that shows off the future look of its electric cars. The Genesis X Speedium Coupe is an evolution of last year’s Genesis X, but it’s now ready for the electric era. The initiative was led by Luc Donckerwolke (Genes Chief Creative Officer).
The Genesis X Speedium Coupe Concept was created by the Korean luxury automaker. It is based on the Genesis X Concept. The company’s Athletic Elegance design philosophy is still represented in the vehicle, but it has been updated to be more progressive. It was not disclosed whether the Genesis X Speedium Coupe was a preview for an upcoming sporty EV. However, we wouldn’t mind if one were made in this form. The Genesis X Speedium Coupe, unlike the previous concept, has a closed-off grille with the Genesis shield illuminated with LEDs. Both the Two Lines lamp styling cue and minimalist approach to design are still prominent. According to the company Speedium’s name was inspired by Inje’s Korean racetrack. This is a testament to their belief that driving will continue to have an emotional value in this era of electrification.
Donckerwolke said, “This car represents an open-door moment for Genesis’ journey towards future EV design.” “This isn’t a show vehicle. It’s a glimpse into our design process as we explore new EV designs that include Genesis’ DNA. The unveiling of the Genesis X Speedium Coupe Concept coincides with the announcement by the company that the electrified Genesis GV70 would be its first vehicle manufactured in the US. Production is scheduled to begin in Montgomery, Alabama in December 2022. This model will help the automaker to be more competitive in the EV market. The company also announced Priority One, where buyers of the Genesis can have a customized purchase experience for the brand’s first electric vehicle. They will need to give their contact information, and deposit $500.
