The DS concept looks futuristic and has arrived in Geneva to display its unique design.
The DS E-TENSE is a striking concept. It represents PSA’s vision of a high-performance grand touring car with an electric motor. Although the styling of the car is exaggerated in many ways, we are able to see the car in the real world from Geneva. We hope the concept will one day become a production vehicle. It is likely that it will not happen, just as with the other DS concepts.
Although the car is quite heavy at 3,968 pounds (1.800 kgs), it can still teleport to speeds of 155 mph (250 km/h) and 62 miles (100 km) per hour in four seconds. The battery packs under the floor can provide enough energy for 192 miles (390 km) or 224 miles (390 km) when driving in cities.
DS Automobiles claims that the E-TENSE concept produces 402 horsepower (381 kilowatts) as well as 381 pound-feet (516 non meters) of torque. It is paired with 20-inch wheels and special Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
Although the cabin of the two-seater is as extravagant as its exterior, the touchscreen display on the infotainment system’s 10-inch screen looks almost like an afterthought. It took 800 hours to create and apply the unique upholstery. For sound, there is a nine-speaker Focal audio system that produces 640-watts.
Hopefully, some of the interesting concepts that DS has introduced in recent times will be influenced by future production models.
