The Civic Concept was unveiled by Honda at the 2015 New York Auto Show. This signifies the arrival of the tenth generation. The global model will be available in coupe and sedan body styles. It was leaked via several patent renders that were published on the internet around two weeks ago.
It’s not necessary to discuss the design of this car as it was a test mule equipped with UK plates but having a left-hand drive layout. It was seen testing on German roads, and it is scheduled to go on sale this fall in the US as a 2016MY.
Honda already confirmed that the North American version of its 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine will feature direct injection. It can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission.
The 2016 Civic, which is US-spec, will come with many safety features, including Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive cruise Control, and Multi-Angle Rearview Camera.
Honda previously stated that the global development of the coupe and sedan is being overseen by a North American R&D group, while styling is being handled by their Los Angeles design studio.
The new Civic will be sold in North America in a coupe and sedan versions, as well as a hatchback, Si, and TypeR versions. The US-spec Civic Sedan will also be manufactured in Greensburg, Indiana, and Alliston, Ontario. While the Coupe and Si will be assembled in Greensburg and Alliston respectively, the five-door hatch will go to the Swindon plant in the United Kingdom.
