It is hard to tell that the car is nearly 30 years old.
The Suzuki Jimny, aka Samurai, is a great choice if you are looking for a 4×4 but on a tight budget. This 1988 JDM-spec model was imported to the USA in December 2016. It’s available for sale on Bring a Trailer. The current highest bid is $3,500. There are still three days left.
The Jimny, located in Reno is being sold with a Nevada title in the owner’s name. It appears to be in excellent condition inside and outside. It would be only for the retro-cool “Turbo EPi” body graphics and tall roof with dual windows at its back. It would be a priority to replace the black tint on the rear windows. The tint appears to have been applied poorly and is beginning to bubble. However, that’s a minor problem.
The Suzuki is cute and has 16-inch wheels made by Berg. It’s shod with 175/80/16 Bridgestone Dueler T tires. The engine, a 343cc turbocharged three-cylinder, powers a 5-speed manual gearbox. This off-roader is equipped with a two speed transfer case (high and low range) According to the seller, the engine had an oil change last month.
We love the “Turbo” logo on the seats. It looks amazing for a car that was built almost three decades ago. It is not possible to find the original radio so there is a gap in your center console. The wiring is still present, so you’ll just need to find a cheap radio from eBay, and plug it in. The gauges work perfectly, even the cool altimeter and inclinometer.
This 1988 Suzuki Jimny has been driven for just 58,392 km (36,283 mi). It is a great low-cost option for weekend off-road adventures.
