GM Defense Shows Chevy Silverado ZH2 in CG Video This military-spec concept could have its roots in a civil-based F-150 Raptor fighter. The GM Defense team has a vision for Chevrolet Silverado. But it’s more than just hugs and dogs. This General Motors subsidiary is primarily focused on military vehicles. The latest concept involves a ZH2 rough-and-ready Silverado. This Fast Lane Truck video was posted recently at GM Defense. It seems like a deleted scene of the Terminator movie with a soundtrack taken from Inception. This could also hint at a full-size Ford F-150 Raptor fighter being developed at Chevy. We’ll get to that later. ZH2 is GM Defense’s version of the ZH2 sound. Colorado ZH2 In 2016, the company tested hydrogen fuel-cell applications in military use. The company seems to be a little more ambitious as the video shows many applications for the fuel-cell Silverado that can operate in harsh environments, not always conducive to electric power. This Silverado will have its batteries charged with hydrogen fuel cells to provide a range of 400 miles. The Fast Lane Truck reports that the electric powertrain can generate upwards of 13 horsepower and takes only three minutes to recharge. This Silverado can produce two gallons of freshwater per hour, as hydrogen fuel cells are a byproduct. We are particularly interested in the MultiMatic DSSV suspension that it uses. A similar setup is used on the Colorado. It is not difficult to imagine that the military Silverado could be built on technology for a civilian off-roader similar to Ford’s Raptor. That’s at least the current theory. Because all of the footage is computer-generated, we don’t know if the truck is real. GM Defense has not yet provided any additional information, but the existence of such a proposal suggests that there is more to the story than we are aware. It is hoped that it will not lead to Skynet using nuclear weapons to kill all of us.
