GM created a petition on Change.org stating its desire to designate the Chevrolet Suburban the National Vehicle of Texas.Spotted by GM Authority The petition, which was just created, focuses on the connection between Texas, full-size SUVs, and recalls a Texas Monthly citation in 1986 that called the Suburban the National Car of Texas. Fast forward to today and GM has cited many reasons why people should vote in favor of the petition’s success.
The petition stated that there were more than 200,000 Suburbans in Texas today and that a Suburban is being sold about every 90 minutes in Texas.
“In addition, five of the top 10 Chevrolet Suburban dealers are located in Texas,” said a Texas Chevrolet dealer. In 2018, Texans purchased more Suburbans than all 25 states combined! It’s not a radical idea to think of the Suburban being the most Texan vehicle. With the new Tahoe and Suburban just around the corner, it’s a perfect moment to draw attention to the long-standing SUV nameplate. Not to be missed, the Suburban will only be built at Arlington Assembly Plant in Arlington Texas.
According to reports, the New Tahoe and Suburban are close to their launch.
As of the writing of this article, 352 people had signed the petition to make Suburban the National Vehicle of Texas. You can sign up for the petition at Change.org if you agree.
The all-new Tahoe and Suburban will reportedly launch on December 10. Both SUVs will be able to ride on the GM T1 platform. However, the Suburban’s biggest innovation would be the addition of an independent rear suspension system. This is a new arrangement that will offer more benefits than cons.
