Nearly 200 accessories will be available.
GMC will launch the revived Hummer , and will showcase many customization options for this all-electric truck at the SEMA next Wednesday. Photos of accessories that can be personalized for the new Hummer have been released by the automaker.
At the SEMA show, four Hummers will be on display, along with two trucks and one SUV. The Chip Ganassi Racing Extreme E electric off-road racing vehicle will also be on display. GMC also mentioned accessories. They were designed in parallel to the vehicle by the manufacturer for better fitment.
Humberto Ortiz (lead designer for performance accessories) stated that their design and fit are integrated into the vehicle as regular production parts. It means that they look and function like they were added to the vehicle’s assembly line. They also have production-level quality, as opposed to universal-type aftermarket parts.
We were most interested in the roof tent at the top. The aluminum structure extends from the truck’s B-pillar to the truck’s rear end, and back to the truck bed. As part of the package, there’s an aluminum ladder that can be retractable and a heavy-duty cooling case.
The 50-inch lightbar with curved profile that matches the roof contour, and the tire carrier for Hummer trucks, which matches the design language, are other accessories worth mentioning. A hard power-retractable, tonneau cover is available as well as an off-road recovery kit. GMC claims it will have almost 200 accessories for the new Hummer, many of which will be displayed at the SEMA. Ortiz added that accessories for GMC Hummer EVs were inspired by the vehicle’s extreme performance capabilities. The accessories are extensions of the vehicle’s design and function integration.
