Lewis Hamilton’s father has yet to accept an invitation to Lewis Hamilton’s first race since their professional split.

Anthony Hamilton was McLaren’s manager for the first three formula one seasons. But Hamilton, 25, told his father that he wanted to do it all himself in 2010.

Hamilton Snr has remained away from all races of this season. Lewis recently revealed that they are just now trying to rekindle their relationship.

According to British newspapers, Hamilton invited his family, which includes his father, along with his friends, to Silverstone this weekend.

He is quoted saying “I think that he’s coming,” which confirms their relationship is not back to 100 percent.

“I invited him. All my family has been invited. He’ll be there Saturday night, I believe.

“I have grandstand tickets, so I said that you can choose to be in either the paddock or the grandstand.

Hamilton said, “He should go to the paddock but then he should experience something else because he has always seen it from TV or in a paddock.”

The 2008 world champion stated that he doesn’t regret looking for a new manager because he has been able to grow this year without his father.

He confirmed, “It really does have, it really does,” “I have just grown. I am still learning so much and I can manage myself now, taking control and managing things.

Hamilton said, “I’m proud that I haven’t rushed into (new) management” and that he’s told people to be patient.
