Say hello to Mammoth.
Be open with yourself. This is what you knew would happen. Hennessey had already done a 6×6 conversion of the Ford F-150 Raptor. This gave birth to the Hennessey VelociRaptor. Hennessey quickly drew attention to the Goliath when the Chevrolet Silverado debuted. Is this really the case with the wacky TRX named Mammoth?
Before you answer that question, it is important to know that Hennessey has given its six-wheeler a little more power than others. The Ram TRX
The factory already produces 702 horsepower (523kilowatts), so what more can Hennessey expect from the Hellcat V8 supercharged Hellcat? You’ve probably seen our headline and know that the total answer is 1,200 horsepower (895 kW). You are wrong. Wait, what?
Hennessey’s conversion of Ram TRX to Mammoth 6-x6 effectively eliminates the stock Hellcat 6.2-liter V8. The Texas tuner will instead install a 426-cubic-inch (7.0-liter), Hellephant crate engine by Mopar. This instantly increases the horsepower to 1,000 hp (745kW) right out of the box. Hennessey will also tune the supercharged engine so it produces the 1,200 ponies that is advertised. It will be Hennessey’s most powerful truck to date.
The TRX suspension will be further modified by the Hennessey Team for off-road use. Although the truck is already capable of off-roading, the main focus of the modifications will be handling the additional weight of the 6×6 conversion. The Mammoth will come with special interior trim and exterior modifications. This truck already attracts more attention than any drunk celebrity at the Oscars after-party.
John Hennessey, the founder of the company and its CEO, said that the Ram TRX is a great product. “A mammoth 6X6 powered with a 1,200-hp Hellephant engine is a ridiculous idea. That is why we are doing it. This truck will be the most exclusive and expensive we have ever made, with only three examples.
You did read it correctly. The TRX is not yet available so it won’t be long before there are three mammoths. The price of the Silverado-based Goliath 6×6 is not specified, but it costs no less than $375,000. Pricing will be required to claim the most expensive title.
