Surprised? We are too.
Hennessey, an American hypercar manufacturer and tuner, announced plans to create something “outof this world” at which celebrated the Venom F5’s sold-out status in August. The Texas-based company is actually only half-joking as it is currently working on Project Deep Space. Although it won’t soon be flying out of the atmosphere, it promises to deliver some very unusual technical specifications.
The “HyperGT” is a low-slung coupe with huge gullwing doors. Each wheel is powered by an electric motor. Hennessey is currently working on a six motor EV designed with practicality in view. The unusual cabin has a 1+2+1 layout and can accommodate four people. Imagine McLaren F1/Speedtail or Gordon Murray’s T.50 with a third row.
Let’s talk about the rearmost seat. Hennessey wants everybody to know that it’s not just for VIPs, but also a VVIP seat. This is for, yes, you guessed it, Very Very Important Persons. We are not laughing. If you didn’t notice, the passenger who is reclining in the back has the best seats. They will lie flat and have the luxury of a long, luxurious sedan.
To keep the vehicle’s weight down, the chassis and body are made of carbon fiber. The interior is constructed with only six-wheel drive, zero-emissions materials. We have checked the calendar numerous times, and are pretty certain that it isn’t April Fools’ day. Project Deep Space is taking place.
It won’t go into production until 2026, after the Venom F5 has been assembled. Only 105 units will ever be produced at a cool $3,000,000 per pop.
