Hennessey Promises 1,200-HP Upgrade For New Corvette ZR1

There are also 1,000-hp and 800-hp versions available.

The brand new 2019 Chevy corvette ZR1 supercar is the fastest and most powerful the company has ever produced. The ‘Vette, which made its debut at the Dubai Motor Show last month, is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8. It produces 755 horsepower (563 kilowatts). Hennessey believes the new ZR1 could have even more horsepower.

Three performance upgrades have been provided by the Texas-based tuning company for the ZR1: HPE850 upgrades, HPE1000 upgrades, and HPE1200 upgrades. The three upgrade options available significantly increase power from the stock 755-hp model.

The HPE850 upgrade adds 100 horses (74kW) to the supercar and increases the torque to 715 pound feet (969 Newton-meters). This upgrade reportedly allows the Corvette speed to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.6 seconds. Upgrades include a Hennessey lower pulley, high-flow piston heads, upgraded valve springs and a high flow air induction system. There are also Hennessey emblems and HPE850 emblems.

The next HPE1000 upgrade will increase the horsepower to 1,000 (745kW), and produce 966 lbft (1,309Nm) of torque. Hennessey predicts that the ZR1 will be capable of sprinting to 60 mph (96 kmh), and then continue to reach a top speed at 220 mph (354 kmh).

The HPE1200 upgrade increases the output to 1,200 horsepower (894 kW) or 1,066 lb/ft (1,445Nm) respectively. The ZR1 will be capable of sprinting to 60 mph in 2.2 seconds and reaching a maximum speed of 230 miles (370 kmh) with this power. The 6.2-liter engine will get a high flow supercharger system and custom aluminum pistons. It also has stainless steel headers, mid pipes and HPE management calibration.

Hennessey claims that only a few examples of each upgrade are available to customers, but the shop did not provide any pricing information. The stock Corvette ZR1 will be priced at $119,995 coupe and $123,995 convertible.
