Silverado’s truck can reach 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds wherever it pleases.
This is something we didn’t expect, but in some ways we’re not completely surprised. The latest creation of Hennessey Performance is the apocalypse-busting Chevrolet Silverado, called Goliath. It makes us wonder about what’s in Texas’ water. It’s not because it’s a Silverado Trail Boss, but because it has a big lift, extra drive axle, and because of that. The typical Hennessey treatment is also applied under the hood. This gives it a significant power boost over the regular Chevy truck upon which it’s built. Translation? Translation
What power are we talking? Hennessey fitted the Goliath 6×6 to its HPE700 supercharged 6.2-liter V8. It generates 705 horsepower (526 Kilowatts) as well as 675 pound-feet (915 Newton meters) of torque. The engine is much heavier than the modified Camaros. However, the tuner claims that Goliath should still be able to reach 60 mph in the middle-four-second range. We don’t usually pay much attention to manufacturer statements, but this is a significant amount of iron-and-steel being shoved forward at an equivalent rate to an Audi S4. For a moment, let that sink in.
Hennessey does not give us an exact weight of Goliath, but we know that it has an eight-inch lift kit with custom-made bed to fit the additional axle. It also has an entirely new rear suspension system that handles the complexity. All of it rolls on BF Goodrich 37-inch offroad rubber. You can also fit special bumpers to the front and rear, as well as a rollbar, LED lights and the Hennessey graphics package. The most remarkable feature is Hennessey’s three-year warranty coverage or 36,000 mile warranty. The company is confident that this outrageous thing will stand the test. The 808-hp (602 kW) optional upgrade is available, which adds Brembo brakes as well as a custom interior. However, it doesn’t come with any warranty.
You don’t have to worry about warranties if Hennessey asks for $375,000 (yes $375,000). Hennessey says only 24 trucks will be made, but they are also available for export.
