Here’s how Dodge got 840 HP out of the Demon

Two keys, one supercharged motor, and plenty of horsepower.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was the biggest debut at the New York Auto Show. The Demon is essentially a quarter-mile-focused Challenger Hellcat and introduces tons of performance features and even more power… even if it’s technically illegal on the drag strip.

The 6.2-liter Hellcat supercharged Hellcat engine under the hood produces up to 840 horsepower (626kW), depending on which key you use. There are no rear seats, but buyers have the option to add a roll cage or a branded crate. This includes a plaque that displays the owner’s name and VIN as well as a host other performance enhancements.
