Here's the McLaren GT without its roof

It would be great to store it somewhere.

The industry was shocked when McLaren launched the GT. This is a company known for making supercars, and it has unveiled a grand tourer that can haul golf clubs. It wasn’t a significant departure from McLaren’s core supercar strengths. The McLaren GT is a more practical option that offers a wide range of performance without compromising on its core supercar strengths. The GT is currently available as a coupe. X-Tomi Design created a rendering for a McLaren GT Spider. It looks right from Woking.

The McLaren GT Spider appears to have lost its roof at first glance. If you pay closer attention, the window behind B-pillar has disappeared. There’s also an additional lip on the windshield to allow the roof to attach to it. The rest of the design is unchanged.

A McLaren GT Spider would offer customers more options. However, the roof must go somewhere and it would likely take up most of the GT’s cargo space. The McLaren GT Spider would be a waste of space and defeats the purpose of the McLaren GT. McLaren also offers other Spider models so it’s unlikely that the McLaren GT Spider will ever see the light.

The rendering shows the GT Spider with its new twin-turbo V8 engine. It produces 620 horsepower (460 kilowatts) as well as 465 pound-feet (630 Newton meters) of torque. The grand tour can go from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds thanks to the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This level of performance is essential for grand tourers to get to the country club in time for their 8 a.m. tee times.

Unfortunately, the McLaren GT Spider is not possible. The rear hatch can be used for cargo and not as a roof. McLaren should not hinder its GT’s ability to perform top-down motoring.
