Hertz offers a special deal for those who are in love with the Corvette Z06, but don’t have $80,000 to buy one. Hertz will give you the keys to 100 Corvettes that have been specially built. They are all dressed in yellow paint and black stripes to match Hertz’ corporate colors. The rental car company will hand over the keys to one of 100 Corvettes, which are 650-horsepower (485 kW) vehicles. Although it may seem expensive, the daily cost is only $199. It doesn’t include taxes and fees, which can increase the cost by up to $80 depending on where you live, but it seems like a reasonable price for this kind of performance. You also don’t get insurance because this is a super-fast rear-wheel drive sports car.
If your nearest Hertz office is not located at one of the 14 major US airports, it won’t be possible to pick one up at the office. Only the special-edition cars are available in Atlanta, Boston and Chicago. The Corvettes look exactly like what you would find at your local Chevroletdealer, with the exception of special Hertz badges and model numbers on the interior.
The Z06 is part of the Adrenaline collection, which also includes other muscle offerings like a Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang GT. A 650-horsepower Vette is in a different category than those muscle cars but it can be rented out for $130 per day.

Hertz does not give us an estimate of the time that the rental Corvettes would be available. The cars should be available for several months, based on past experience with special-edition Mustangs. This is plenty of time to save a few hundred dollars for an unforgettable day of driving. Make sure you have the right insurance.
